F5 BIG-IP Standard Series 5000 License

Licensed F5 BIG-IP Standard Series 5000 platform is a powerful system that can manage traffic for businesses of all sizes. This series of platforms includes models that support hard disk drives (HDDs) or solid-state drives (SSDs). F5 offers three levels of SSL offload performance for the 5000 series: 5000s, 5200v, and 5200v-SSL.

The 5200v SSL platform features powerful SSL hardware that frees servers from the task of encrypting and decrypting data. The 5050 Series platform is available with a FIPS-certified Hardware Security Module (HSM) as a factory-installed option (5250v-FIPS). The 5250v FIPS platform is only available with a single SSD.

Simple and professional troubleshooting

BIG-IP has a BMC (Base Management Controller) and supports IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) protocol. With BMC and AOM (Always on Management) firmware, F5 customers can access internal sensor data including temperature, airflow and voltage information for further system monitoring.

Without running the TMOS instance, it is possible to send out-of-band alerts. In addition, the remote system console can access BMC and AOM functions through a TMOS management port IP address, eliminating the need for a separate or dedicated network. In addition, BIG-IP series devices can display system information, including sensor readings for troubleshooting, on their color LCD touch screens.

Centralized management of BIG-IQ

F5 BIG-IQ® Centralized Management is the management and coordination platform of F5 BIG-IP Standard Series 5000. This platform is the central control point of F5 physical and virtual devices and application distribution and security services on them. BIG-IQ Centralized Management is offered as a virtual version of F5. This platform simplifies the management work and helps to comply with the laws by means of the provided licenses. Two-layer architecture

The two-tier architecture provides an optimal design for organizations implementing a private cloud. This method provides network administrators with the ability to use software and hardware application distribution services. The first layer provides services such as L4 traffic management, DDOS firewall or SSL offload. These services are centralized and shared for all global network traffic and implement consistent application policies.

These services deal with high volume traffic and impose a lot of load on the processor. Layer 2 (tenant or application layer), includes emerging cloud-native applications that are distributed in microservices. Applications need special services to manage in-application traffic.
