Catalyst 9000 PLR License
Cisco Catalyst 9000 PLR license (Permanent License Reservation)
Cisco Catalyst 9000 family counts as a reliable replacement for prior Catalyst switches such as Cisco Catalyst products. However, for using these features, you need to register all product instances on the Cisco smart software manager using direct or proxy connection, or you can use Cisco Permanent License Reservation (Cisco PLR license) solution. This solution needs no inbound or outbound internet connection and is introduced for highly secure environments. Moreover, using Cisco Catalyst 9000 PLR license can activate all premium features on these products permanently.
Cisco Catalyst 9200, 9300 and 9600 PLR License
This PLR license can be applied on the Catalyst 9200,9300 and 9600 series switches using an authorization code (provided by Cisco partner) and then the following features would be activated permanently:

Cisco Catalyst 9400 and 9500 PLR License
By applying the Cisco PLR license on these Catalyst switches the following features would be activated permanently:
- All Layer 2 Capabilities including StackWise, StackWise Virtual, PVLAN
- Layer 3 Capabilities: RIP, OSPF, EIGRP and stub, IS-IS, PBR, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, NSF
